Revival

This past Sabbath we heard from Pastor Mark on the call for revival. He used the story in 2 Chronicles 29:3-30. Revival is definitely something that is needed here at New Beginnings and in the modern church in general. There are several things that need to happen in order for revival to take place.

In the story in 2 Chronicles, King Hezekiah started by replaced the worn down doors to the temple. If you want a revival in your own life, then you first have to fix what is broken. There is nearly always some sort of debris in the way of cleaning up and starting anew.

The next thing we need to do is recommit our lives to Yahweh. It is extremely easy to become distracted by the things of this world and set Yahweh to the side in order to chase our own goals. If we want His revival, His freedom, His blessing, then we have to center our focus back on Him.

In addition to commitment, we need to remove any idols in our lives. Simply put, an idol is anything that we may place in higher importance over Yahweh. There are many good things in this world like clothing, electronics, TV, books and more, but when those things draw too much of our attention away from our Creator, then they become idols in our lives.

Finally, once these things have been done, revival results in overwhelming joy. Believers need to take time together to worship, praise and give offerings to Yahweh together. These things are pleasing to Him and help strengthen us in unity.

This is the day, the month, and the year that Yahweh has made for us. It’s time for us, as a Body, to put away idols, struggles, brokenness, and hardships of the past. Yahweh’s plan for you, as an individual, and us, as a congregation is so much more than we ever could have imagined. Help us in starting a revival, and contribute to the process!
